“In medical school, I chose to be an eye surgeon because I wanted to work with my hands and have a direct impact on a patient’s quality of life. He loves spending time with his wife, Elisabeth, and their son, Maxwell. He has spent time abroad, including a year of humanitarian work in Peru, as well as time performing corneal transplants for underserved patients in the Dominican Republic. Hartman is Board Certified and a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He went on to complete subspecialty training in cornea and external disease at the University of Colorado in Denver. Matthew Hartman specializes in cataract, cornea, external disease, and refractive surgery, as well as advanced lens technology to correct astigmatism and presbyopia with cataract surgery. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from UCLA, he went on to earn his medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine in 2001.
